“It’s not enough to be busy… The question is: What are we busy about?”― Henry David Thoreau
I once came across these following words which got me really thinking, “My biggest regrets in life are being too damn nice, apologizing when I didn’t do anything wrong, and making unworthy people a priority in my life.”
The undeniable truth is that you always have time for the things you put first in your life. This without a doubt will be reflected by the results you produce. Your priorities are definitely not what you say they are but they are revealed by what you do. As a speaker and life coach, I get to share this with my audiences as it is fundamentally important.
That’s why self-awareness is so important. Self-awareness leads you to a place deep down within you that knows that in order to create magic in the world, you firstly have to own the magic within yourself. It helps you differentiate between your beliefs that are merely cultural constraints and those that are truths. It helps you also differentiate between the trustworthy voice of your intuition and the persuasive pronouncements of your fears. True freedom is never received but released from within.
Self-awareness helps you know better, choose better and align with the highest that’s within you. It also makes you open-minded. The truth is that open-minded people don’t care to be right, they care to understand. They don’t fix the blame, they fix the problem. They know that everything is about understanding.
What you put first or prioritize give most results in your life. So, if you don’t like your current results, it’s not mainly because the conditions are unfavourable for you, it’s because of what you have put first in your list of priorities. It’s priorities that make winners as well as losers. Yes, let me say it again, winners win because of their habits, not because they are good people. Same with those that lose, they lose because of their habits, not because they are bad people, NO!
What you put first in your life, makes you, it’s as simple as that. If you are not getting the results you want, I suggest that you seriously review your priorities. What does your twenty-four hour day look like? The best way to do it is to write down everything you’ve done, each day, for the past week. That will show you what you put first in your life and then start to correct what needs to be corrected. What you have achieved thus far is only a tip of the iceberg compared to what you are capable of achieving, always remember that.
