Are You Willing to Sacrifice?

“If you don’t sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice.” – Veli Ndaba – ‘The Engineered Mind to WIN’
These words above clearly indicate that one half of knowing what you want is the knowing of what you are willing to give up in order to get it. This to me simply means that success of any scale is directly proportional to what one is willing to give up. Direct proportionality is the relationship between input and output – This is the law of sowing and reaping or cause and effect – what you put in is what you will get out.
Success consists of two halves, the first half is knowing exactly what you want and the willingness to pay the price for it no matter what; The second half is the real sacrifice in the form of physical action that comes with pain, ridicule, hardships, rejection, mocking and being called names – This is called going against the norm or culture.
The most important decision about your goals is not what you are willing to do to achieve them, but what you are willing to give up at the beginning. I put a lot of financial investment in my personal development, attending seminars, workshops, conferences, buying books and  paying for coaching sessions I attended – I used to pay with the last money I had and at times committed myself without having money to pay which then challenged me to come up with ideas to raise money. Today, people think I am lucky and that things are just happening for me, no, I was willing to sacrifice the short-term comfort for the long term one. Most people always make excuses when it comes to investing in themselves, they prefer to buy material things that do not increase their market value. Yet people complain about the shortage of opportunities – it’s not the shortage of opportunities that is a problem, it is rather the shortage of skills. This is more like blaming the bank for the small interest on your investment whereas the problem is the amount you have invested which has resulted on the small interest, I am sure you get the picture.
To truly grow and get those doors of opportunities to open up widely for you, you have to be willing at any moment to sacrifice what you are for what you can be. Sacrifice is a part of life, it’s supposed to be. It’s not something to regret but something to aspire to. My friend, the world has long been waiting for your light to shine, it’s time to step-up and shine it!
