Be A Little Bit More Curious!

“I don’t care what town you are born in, what city, what country. If you are a child, you are curious about your environment. You are overturning rocks. You are plucking leaves off of trees and petals off of flowers, looking inside, and you are doing things that create disorder in the lives of adults around you.” – Neil deGrasse Tyson

We grew up hearing that curiosity killed the cat. Whenever you asked more questions, you were told to shut up and that you were a nuisance because you were asking too many questions. Sadly, this still does happen. Hearing this over and over again drained us of our natural magical powers. The truth is, curiosity introduces you to different and wonderful possibilities that life is all about. If you are not curious, you’ll be forever stuck and you’ll surely miss out on so much that life has to offer. There’s more and better you, things and situations out there, just be a little bit more curious! Just find out: What? Why? Where? Who? How? And When? These are basic questions that reveal so much!

The people who don’t ask questions, smart ones at that, remain clueless throughout their lives.

You know, when you are curious, you find a lot of interesting things to do. If I didn’t bother to go back to my childhood days of being naturally curious, you wouldn’t be reading this piece; I wouldn’t have authored three books; I wouldn’t be travelling the world inspiring and empowering; Sekusile Technical Services and Sekusile Premium Venues wouldn’t be existing. This is just to show you that curiosity brings out something special and unique. Yes, there are times when you discover uninteresting things and even worse, burn your fingers, but it’s ok because you don’t get stuck in there, you move away to check another exciting thing. It’s ok to mess up sometimes, but don’t get stuck in your mess, turn it into your message. That’s how life is supposed to be.

To be curious requires you to be a bit ‘childish’. Children are not only innocent and curious but also optimistic and joyful and essentially happy. They are, in short, everything adults wish they could. Once I got this, my life took off!
