“If you find yourself constantly trying to prove your worth to someone, you have already forgotten your value.” – Anonymous
Sometimes walking away has nothing to do with weakness, and everything to do with strength. You walk away not because you want others to realize your worth and value, but because you have finally realized your own.
I am talking about walking away from a toxic situation, relationship of any sort that devalues you and make you feel you are not worthy and deserving to be your own free and happy person. I am talking about walking away from a bad habit that has put your life in a rut. Are you communicating a lot of substance that adds value to people or a lot of nothing (stuff that doesn’t add any value) just to prove your existence to the world? My friend, you have nothing to prove to anyone, you are a gem already. God has been so good to you, just realize that.
When last did someone say ‘thank you’ to you with some tears of joy in their eyes? Are you a ‘door opener’ or a ‘door closer’ of opportunities and happiness for others? When last were you a blessing to someone? Or you always expect others to open doors of opportunities for you and bless you without you doing so for others? Wake up, life is not just about you. Learn to be part of something bigger than yourself. You’ll be hurt along the way as some people will take advantage of you but, be a person of substance, it will give you a peace of mind. Never be ashamed of a scar in your life, it simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you.
Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself. It’s a fact that some people will hate you and find faults in you just because you are you. For me, life is not about being perfect but to be the best that I can be and to serve you the best way I can. You have God-given gifts and talents within you, start using them and stop wasting your precious time proving yourself to the world.
