Follow Your Dreams!

“I dream my painting and I paint my dream.” – Vincent Van Gogh

All of us have dreams, yes, as long as you are breathing you are a dreamer. Everything in the world that was built by men, was created twice, first in the mind or mental plane and then in the physical world. You have to create it first in the mind before you can bring it in the physical world. The big question is why only few people achieve a lot when the vast majority achieves very little in life?
The answer to the question above is that it takes special tools to convert dreams from the mind or mental plane into the physical plane known as reality. Let me share with you a few of these special tools that one needs to create harmony and peace between mental and physical worlds:
1. You Have to See It!
“A man paints with his brains and not with his hands,” said Michelangelo
What you can see you can do!  If you can’t see it, you can’t do it.  So what do you see for your life?  Do you see more of the same, or do you see greatness just around the corner! Before you arrive you must see it; what you see is “exactly” what you’re going to get.  So what do you see?
2. Hard Work and Sacrifice
It takes hard work and sacrifice to succeed. The idea that “people succeed because they’re lucky” may make you feel better, but it’s simply not true. The reality is that success is the result of hard work.  Are “you” working hard?  Are you giving your all to this game called life?  You won’t succeed on a half-effort; to succeed you must give your all. Sacrifice comes when you have you give up certain things in order to get those you value the most. One half of knowing what you want is knowing what you are willing to give up in order to get it, that’s sacrifice. You can’t have it all!
 3. Bring out the Greatness in You!
Michelangelo said, “Every block of stone has a statue inside it, and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.”  Every person is like that block of stone, there’s greatness inside, but it has to be carved out.  It has to be carved out through hard work and sacrifice; it has to be carved out by the individual who can perceive their own greatness.  To succeed, you must carve your greatness out of the block.
4. Have Deep Belief and Faith in Yourself and Your Dreams
To succeed you must believe in your ability!  You must be the first member of your fan club.  As the famous poem goes, “If you think you’re outclassed, you are, you have to think high to rise, you must be sure of yourself, before you can ever win a prize, think big and your deeds will grow, think small and you’ll fall behind, think like you can and you will, it’s all just a state of mind…” Do you believe in yourself?
5. Aim High
The vast majority of people fail not because they aim to high and miss the target, but simply because they aim too low and hit the target. You may be under the impression that you are doing so well, that you are hitting the target, only to find that the bar is set too low. You can do more than you’re presently doing!  You’re capable of accomplishing things that you cannot currently perceive, things that would astonish you.  There lies dormant potential in you that has yet to be tapped; you have to aim high in order to unlock that potential.  Greatness is inside of you, but it’s up to you to release it.
