“What the new beginning brings will entirely depend on what you bring to the new beginning.” – Veli Ndaba – ‘The Engineered Mind – to WIN’
We are now half way through the year and it’s the perfect time to pause and evaluate the progress. You see, you cannot just keep on pushing forward hoping things will just work out as initially planned, life happens along the way!
Life has taught me again and again that hope should never be used as a strategy, it just doesn’t work. Be bold enough to take stock and take unpopular decisions if it need be. There are times in my life where I had to take serious decisions to avoid more damage/s and pain at the end but this couldn’t have happened had I not paused and evaluated the situation. Now, I am glad I made those life changing decisions. This is cutting your losses and starting anew which more often than not is the best thing to do.
It’s important to differentiate between things that can be fixed/repaired and those that you have to move away from as soon as possible, this is great wisdom. When you evaluate, don’t panic, just look at things the way they are not as you hope them to be. Evaluate the situations and people in your life; promote those that deserve a promotion; demote those that deserve a demotion, and terminate those that are no longer adding value in your life.
Don’t evaluate your worthiness by weighing the reaction of the people in the stands, be true to yourself. It’s very important to evaluate your own life, to pay attention to what is going on in your own head. When you decide to cut your losses and start anew, make sure you don’t start new things with old thoughts, that’s very important to know and remember. You have greatness in you, take it out!
