“If you know the why, you can live anyhow.” – Friedrich Nietzsche
What makes a person walk through the pouring rain while the majority wait for it to stop before they can walk? What makes someone walk in the scorching sun while others wait for it to get cooler? What really makes a person ask questions and dare to appear stupid while others pretend to know the answers to appear cool and smart? What makes a person give up her sleep and sacrifice her time of pleasure in front of a television and partying with friends while the vast majority spend their time in front of the television, with their friends and sleep? Well, the answer is the WHY, Yes, the REASON for being!
The greatest love of them all is loving yourself. It is believing in who you are, your own abilities and knowing that you are a gift to this world. All of us have a WHY for whatever we do, it’s either your OWN WHY or Somebody else’s WHY. The vast majority of people live their lives according to the social standard set up for them. If you deviate from this social standard you are seen as a rebel. I have studied so many successful people and have found one common factor with them and is that they go through CRAP. CRAP is the acronym for – Criticism; Rejection; Adversity and Prejudice. This simply means that to be your own person you will go through constant and harsh criticism, rejection, hard work and be prejudiced against even by people you trust with your life. They will turn against you in the name of ‘protecting you’.
Some people are asking themselves why do I bother myself writing these articles on a weekly basis? They are convinced that I am a bored soul who doesn’t know how to have fun in life. They are saying life is too short and I am missing out. You see, I don’t subscribe to mob thinking, I am my own man. I am driven by my own WHY, which is to inspire people to realise their potential, self-worth and achieve their dreams, that’s what I was born to do, period.
If money was not an issue in your life starting now, what would you do that would bring so much joy when you do it? I am writing these articles without any financial reward, that’s what I mean, but when people find value in them as they do, my purpose is fulfilled and happiness is beyond measure. That is my WHY!
What is your WHY? If your WHY is strong enough, you will endure almost anyhow.
