“Our lives are but specks of dust falling through the fingers of time. Like sands of the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.” – Socrates
I am sure you have heard the saying that life is too short. Let’s be honest though, is it that we have a short time to live or we just waste a lot of it on trivial and unnecessary things? I somehow think life is long enough and you have a lot of time on your side for the highest achievements if your time is well invested.
Unfortunately, most of us don’t realise how much time we are wasting until life threatening situations or death itself forces us to gain consciousness of what we could have been and done. So, it’s only fair to say we are not given a short life but we make it short by wasting a lot of it with a hope that we will be around for a long time to make up for it. The two main scarcest things in the world are time and energy, they have to be always used wisely and sparingly.
If you look back at your life right now and honestly ask yourself as to why you haven’t accomplished whatever it is you wanted to accomplish, some of the following reasons will come to mind:
- Dedication to useless tasks;
- Worrying what other people think of you;
- Wasting time with people who don’t appreciate your value;
- Lack of clearly defined goals and commitment.
Here are the three questions that you need to honestly answer with precision for you to get started in your journey of claiming back your power and greatness: Who Am I in relation to the world? What Is My Role In This World? And What Am I Doing About It? Remember, the quality of your question will always determine the quality of your answer which will be displayed by the quality of life you live. If you want to see the quality of the questions you ask yourself every day, look at the quality of life you live, how you show up in the world!
Take the time to answer the three questions I have asked above and the answers will help you set clearly defined goals, find appropriate people to spend time with, focus and commit on valuable things in life and leave a legacy.
