“Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect.” – Unknown
There’s no “perfect” moment. Make your move now. Throw caution to the wind. Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence, and face your future without fear.
We all go through periods where you are beaten up so badly by life’s challenges that just putting one foot in front of the other and moving forward seems to require immense courage. Yet, the thought of your dreams and grief it would cause your loved ones leads you to press on and find a way through your darkness.
I’ve just had a short coaching session with Sam Sakwane, the fighter I first saw in 2004, which makes it fifteen years now. He had just started his garden service business at the age of 23years. I would see him walking around with his lawn mower and garden tools tied on it and moving from one garden to the other, seven days a week. He has been through a lot but kept pressing on. His story can make you tear up a bit. Last month, February 2019, he bought himself a Nissan 1400 bakkie and employs three more people. He really is an inspiration.
Lessons: 1. Never wait for the perfect moment, grab the moment and make it perfect. 2. Fight for your dreams. 3. It doesn’t happen overnight, so have patience. 4. Have the appetite for pain. 5. Life’s beatings are preparing you for something bigger than you can ever imagine.
So, whenever I think of complaining and blaming the circumstances, I think of people like Sam Sakwane and Rosinah Sivhiya (domestic worker turned baker) – my pick me ups and I become grateful and get back to work. So, what are you waiting for? What is your excuse? Your Dreams have long been calling You, Pick Up and Answer!
