We often wonder why we are not where we are supposed be in life, well, the answer lies in us. Here are the three main stealers of greatness:
1. Too much pride. A person with too much pride always looks down on people and things and of course, as long as you are looking down, you can’t see something that is above you – that is meant to lift you up. Too much pride is concerned with who is right rather than what is right. A person with too much pride will never take an advice; Will never say please help me and will never say thank you nor I’m sorry, I was wrong!
2. Stubbornness. This person here appears to be so sweet and understanding to your advice. They will take the advice and thank you for it and feel so sorry that they missed out on this important information in their lives but won’t implement it because they are not willing to adjust irrespective of how important the advice. They are set in their ways! They’ll always justify by using BUT…
3. Being Overly Sensitive. This is about taking everything personal. With this person, you must always be nice and a bit slow when you talk with them. You must for most of the time tip-toe around issues because if you are straight with them, they get upset and even cry. The best way to wake someone up quickly is to raise your voice at them a bit. Some will hate you for raising your voice whereas the majority will thank you for waking them up.
The truth is, we all get caught up by these thieves from time to time and self-awareness will help you guard against them. Just take stock of the past week and see how your greatness have been stolen by these three thieves and you’ll be so amazed. You were born for a bigger purpose don’t let these above thieves deprive you of your greatness!
