“If you can’t fly then run. If you can’t run then walk. If you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do keep moving forward.” – Martin Luther King, Jnr
True strength is when you have a lot to cry about, but you choose to smile and take another step forward instead. When something bad happens in your life, as it will from time to time, you have three choices. You can either let it define you. Let it destroy you or you can let it strengthen you.
I have learnt that it’s when you are at your lowest point that you find your strength. I have been challenged so many times in my life that in many of those challenges, I almost gave up. I found myself doubting as to how far I could go but then I reminded myself of how far I came and that brought the magic. You may be going through a situation/situations right now that make you doubt your strength and abilities, but know that the struggle you’re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. Don’t let a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life.
From time to time, I look back over my life and challenges I went through and I can’t help but wonder how I got over. It is these reflections over my life that made me realize that we all have within us right now everything we need to deal with whatever the world can throw at us.
Whatever challenges you are going through right now, learn to grow through them instead of just mindlessly going through them. You have so much power within you than you can ever begin to imagine. No matter how much it hurts now, someday you’ll look back and realize your struggles changed your life for the better.
